This role partners closely with Department Supervisors to ensure productivity, quality, safety, and customer service goals are achieved while helping develop high-performing teams. As an Assistant Supervisor, you'll provide hands-on leadership, coordinate workflow, support employee development, monitor department performance, assist with equipment or production issues, and contribute to continuous improvement in a fast-paced manufacturing and fulfillment environment. Shift:
9:00 AM•5:30 PM Must be flexible to support additional, second, or overnight shifts during peak season. What You'll Do Support the Department Supervisor in leading daily production, shipping, or art department operations. Assist with planning, organizing, and coordinating daily workflow and staffing priorities. Monitor department efficiencies using reports, calculations, administrative data, and production tracking information. Monitor order backlog, workflow, and express order priorities throughout the shift. Inspect and distribute materials to production lines and personnel as needed. Guide and support team members to meet productivity, quality, and customer service expectations. Train, coach, onboard, and support new and existing employees. Assist with staffing adjustments to meet changing business needs. Monitor attendance, productivity, quality, and safety standards. Operate department-specific equipment as needed. Ensure equipment settings are accurate and appropriate for production requirements. Assist with routine equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting when applicable. Coordinate with Production, Shipping, Customer Service, and other departments to resolve workflow or production issues. Identify operational issues and recommend process improvements to increase productivity and efficiency. Promote a safe, organized, and positive work environment. Maintain department housekeeping and quality standards. Communicate safety concerns, quality issues, and operational challenges to department leadership. Perform additional department-specific duties as assigned. Preferred Experience by Department Laser Ideal candidates may have experience with: Production equipment setup and operation Equipment troubleshooting and preventative maintenance Monitoring production efficiencies and workflow Supporting production teams in high-volume manufacturing environments Rotary Ideal candidates may have experience with: Manufacturing or production operations Monitoring workflow and production output Equipment operation and troubleshooting Continuous improvement and quality-focused processes Mechanical Engraving Ideal candidates may have experience with: Printing, decorating, engraving, or machine operation Production equipment setup and troubleshooting Mechanical aptitude and preventative maintenance Monitoring production workflow and equipment efficiency Training production operators Quality inspections and process compliance Art Ideal candidates may have experience with: Graphic design, production art, or prepress environments Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Adobe Creative Cloud Reviewing, editing, and preparing customer artwork for production Print production workflows and color management Managing artwork queues and production deadlines Coordinating with Production and Customer Service Training or leading creative or production teams Shipping Ideal candidates may have experience with: Shipping, warehouse, fulfillment, or distribution operations Carrier scheduling and shipping coordination Inventory and shipping supply management Leading teams in fast-paced warehouse or fulfillment environments Supporting operations during peak seasons What We're Looking For High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required. Minimum of one (1) year of leadership experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, shipping, fulfillment, print production, graphic arts, prepress, or a related operational environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong leadership, coaching, and facilitation skills. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills. Ability to delegate, prioritize, and multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Understanding of production lines, workflow, equipment capacity, or creative production workflows. Ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications. Demonstrates initiative and a willingness to learn and grow. English proficiency required. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods throughout the shift. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds as needed. Ability to bend, reach, and perform repetitive movements in a production or warehouse environment. Strong attendance, punctuality, and reliability. Flexibility to accommodate schedule changes during peak periods.
