Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking an experienced 2nd Shift Welding Supervisor to lead our welding and fabrication team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This position is responsible for overseeing daily welding operations, supervising production employees, ensuring product quality, improving efficiency, and maintaining a safe work environment. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with extensive TIG welding experience, exceptional leadership abilities, and a strong commitment to continuous improvement. Essential Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate all 2nd shift welding and fabrication activities to ensure production schedules are met. Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a team of welders and fabrication personnel. Monitor daily production, labor utilization, and workflow to maximize productivity and efficiency. Ensure all welds and fabricated assemblies meet quality standards and customer specifications. Oversee TIG welding operations involving stainless steel fabrication and precision assemblies. Interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and engineering drawings to support production. Identify production issues, troubleshoot manufacturing challenges, and implement corrective actions. Promote Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and improve efficiency. Ensure employees follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations. Conduct daily safety meetings and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Collaborate with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Maintenance departments to resolve production issues. Monitor employee performance, provide coaching, conduct training, and assist with performance evaluations. Assist with scheduling, manpower planning, and resource allocation. Maintain production reports and communicate shift performance to management. Support additional manufacturing and supervisory responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications Minimum 8 years of welding and metal fabrication experience in a manufacturing environment. Minimum 4 years of supervisory or leadership experience managing welding or fabrication teams. Expert-level TIG welding experience with stainless steel. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, weld symbols, and fabrication drawings. Experience supervising production schedules and achieving manufacturing goals. Excellent leadership, communication, and employee development skills. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities. High School Diploma or GED required. Welding certification is preferred but not required. Ability to work independently while leading a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Ability to work in a production environment with exposure to welding equipment, fabrication tools, noise, and varying temperatures.
