Lacon, IL TYPE Direct Hire SALARY $52,000 - $58,240 / yr ID OH125-2756928 POSTED Aug 7, 2026 2nd Shift Manufacturing Production Supervisor Lacon, IL Position Summary We are seeking a hands-on 2nd Shift Production Supervisor to lead our manufacturing team. You will manage a team of 10-20 operators and technicians. Your primary focus will be ensuring safety, maintaining quality standards, and meeting daily production targets. Shift Schedule 2nd shift Monday - Friday with occasional weekend overtime may be required based on production needs. Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership:
Manage, train, and mentor less than 20 shift employees.
Daily Operations:
Oversee daily extrusion line setups, operations, and teardowns.
Safety Enforcement:
Maintain strict adherence to OSHA regulations and company safety policies.
Quality Control:
Monitor product dimensions and visuals to minimize scrap rates.
Troubleshooting:
Assist technicians with mechanical and process issues on extrusion machinery.
Performance Tracking:
Complete shift logs, production reports, and attendance tracking.
Continuous Improvement:
Implement lean manufacturing practices to optimize workflow efficiency. Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
Industry Knowledge:
Background in plastics manufacturing or similar industries such as metal, lumber, automotive, or aerospace.
Technical Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude
Leadership:
Proven track record of managing and motivating small teams (under 20 people).
Communication:
Clear verbal and written communication skills for cross-shift handoffs.
Education:
