A Machine Shop Supervisor supervises employees working in a machine shop, including CNC and PLC machining. Requires experience in machining and supervising other machinists. Monitors activities to ensure safety of workers and quality of products. Analyzes job scope and engineering part prints to determine information for finished machined parts. May train new machinists, develop training, work and safety procedures for the shop.
Job Description Schedule manpower, material, and equipment for construction projects in a shipyard environment. Review project hours and provide status updates of project information Request Material quotes for requisitions, order material, generate hand take off as necessary. Manage project costs to maintain profitability. Schedule and attend AHJ Inspections. This includes pressure testing and final inspections. Plan and schedule training sessions for installation technicians to enhance their skills and knowledge. Communicate daily with the installation technicians to ensure project(s) progress and address any issues promptly. Communicate project status with Marine Install Manager. Support monthly project reviews with department leadership and accounting to assess project performance and recommendations for improvement as needed. Attend weekly construction kick-off meetings. Ensure installation technicians comply with all safety procedures. Conduct safety audits to identify potential hazards and make recommendations for corrective actions to maintain a safe work environment. Ensure all installations meet all code and regulatory requirements. Make recommendations for improvement as needed. Collaborate with leadership to conduct job walks with the sales team to assess project requirements and provide accurate cost estimates for quotes. Collaborate with the Design department by conducting flow tests and surveys to support project planning and execution. Other duties as assigned. Need Piping installation or piping experience 5+ years Supervisor/ Foreman/ Manager preferred Leading a team of piping installation preferred Marine pipping installation preferred Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory role is highly desired. In-depth knowledge of pipefitting and pipe welding processes and procedures. Experience developing pneumatic and hydrotest packages in addition to verifying and witnessing acceptance of tests. Basic computer and software skills to include the use of word processing, e-mail, spreadsheets and electronic presentation programs. Thorough understanding of safety regulations and the ability to enforce safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment. Must have problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and propose necessary solutions. Ability to review designs for constructability and identify potential challenges.
