Overview Atlas Blowpipe & Sheet Metal Works, Inc. is hiring an experienced HVAC Sheet Metal Foreman for a major data-center project in the St. Francisville/Baker, Louisiana area. This is a working field-leadership position for someone who can independently manage commercial ductwork installation, direct a crew, coordinate with other trades, and keep production on schedule. The right candidate must have substantial field experience and be comfortable taking responsibility for an assigned area of the project. Responsibilities Supervise and work alongside sheet metal mechanics and apprentices. Plan daily and weekly ductwork installation activities. Review mechanical drawings, specifications, coordination drawings and installation details. Lay out and direct the installation of rectangular duct, spiral duct, equipment connections, dampers, access doors, supports, grilles and diffusers. Coordinate deliveries, material staging, equipment access and work areas. Verify field dimensions and identify conflicts before fabrication or installation. Coordinate with Atlas project management, the mechanical contractor, general contractor and other trades. Track manpower, production, installed quantities and remaining work. Maintain quality-control standards and correct deficiencies promptly. Conduct daily safety planning and enforce project safety requirements. Document delays, obstructions, changed conditions and work outside Atlas's scope. Attend coordination and planning meetings as required. Maintain an organized, productive and professional jobsite. Required Qualifications Minimum five years of commercial HVAC sheet metal field experience. Previous experience as a sheet metal foreman or lead mechanic. Strong knowledge of commercial ductwork fabrication and installation. Ability to read mechanical plans, details, specifications and coordinated drawings. Ability to plan work, organize manpower and meet production goals. Experience with duct hangers, supports, equipment connections, dampers and air devices. Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to identify coordination conflicts and communicate them before work proceeds. Commitment to safety, quality and accountability. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to work the project schedule, including overtime or second-shift work when required. Preferred Qualifications Data-center, industrial or large commercial project experience. Experience with BIM coordination, Navisworks, Trimble layout or digital construction drawings. OSHA 30 certification. Experience supervising union sheet metal personnel.
