POSITION SUMMARY
The Manufacturing & Production Manager leads daily operations across Kitchen, Folding, Fryer, and Packaging to meet Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost (SQDC) targets. This role converts demand into executable production plans, ensures regulatory compliance (USDA/FDA, HACCP, GMP, SSOP, Appendix B cooling), develops team capability, and drives continuous improvement to scale a high-mix food operation.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Plan and execute daily/weekly production schedules; balance labor and line speeds to meet output and service goals.
Own changeovers, standard work, batch records, lot traceability, and documentation accuracy.
Monitor KPIs (throughput per FTE, OEE, yield/scrap/rework, downtime, schedule adnce) and lead corrective actions.
Partner with FSQA to uphold food safety, allergen controls, sanitation, and release/hold procedures.
Coordinate with Procurement/Warehouse for raw/packaging availability; prevent shortages and line stops.
Lead Tier/shift huddles, assign priorities, and ensure clear communication across areas and shifts.
Troubleshoot equipment/process issues with Maintenance; escalate and track to closure.
Train, coach, and evaluate supervisors/leads/operators; enforce safety/PPE and GMP compliance.
Support audits (regulatory, customer, internal).
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS/ COMPETENCIES
Bachelors degree required. 5+ years in food manufacturing or closely related production leadership (multi-line environment preferred).
Working knowledge of HACCP, GMP, SSOPs, and
USDA/FDA
requirements; Appendix B cooling familiarity.
Proficient with Excel/Google Sheets and ERP/MES for scheduling, inventory, and reporting.
Demonstrated results improving KPIs (OEE, yield, labor productivity) and leading CI initiatives.
Strong people leadership, conflict resolution, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
PHYSICAL AND WORK CONDITIONS
Ability to stand/walk for extended periods; lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
Comfortable in refrigerated/frozen and hot/frying areas; PPE required.
Flexibility for early/late shifts or weekends to support operations.
SCHEDULE & TRAVEL
Standard on-site schedule aligned to production hours; occasional off-shift coverage.
Minimal travel (training/audits/vendor visits) as needed.
