Job Description

Wet Coat Paint Line Manager Position Summary:
We are seeking a highly accomplished and strategic manager of our vertical wet coat paint line. The Wet Coat Paint Line Manager is responsible for leading and managing the daily operations of a multi-shift wet coat painting line. This individual will ensure that production goals are met with a strong focus on quality, on-time delivery, and process improvement. The role oversees a team of approximately 12-15 operators per shift, ensuring efficient workflow, adherence to quality standards, and continuous development of operational procedures. This position requires hands-on leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and a results-driven mindset.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Lead and manage all aspects of the wet coat paint line across multiple shifts, including personnel, equipment, materials, and processes. Ensure adherence to daily production schedules, quality standards, and customer delivery requirements. Develop and implement systems to monitor and improve paint quality, first-pass yield, and defect reduction. Supervise, train, coach, and evaluate the performance of shift leads and paint line operators. Collaborate with Quality, Maintenance, and Scheduling departments to ensure smooth operations and timely issue resolution. Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or other structured methodologies. Maintain compliance with safety regulations, environmental controls, and internal standard operating procedures. Analyze production and quality data, develop action plans, and report performance metrics to senior leadership. Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and ensure equipment is in optimal condition. Support and promote a culture of accountability, high performance, and teamwork.
Qualifications and Skills:
Experience:
Minimum 5 years of experience in a paint line environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of wet coat paint applications, curing processes, and quality standards Familiarity with paint chemistry, viscosity, mixing ratios, and environmental compliance Proficient in interpreting blueprints, specifications, and quality standards Understanding of Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement tools
Leadership Skills:
Proven ability to lead cross-shift teams, drive results, and foster a culture of accountability.
Systems:
