GED Full Job Description Summary:
The Quality Supervisor leads HME's quality assurance and inspection activities to ensure products meet customer requirements, regulatory standards, and company expectations. This role oversees quality operations, drives continuous improvement, resolves quality concerns, supports corrective actions, and ensures compliance with quality systems and procedures. The Quality Supervisor works closely with production, engineering, purchasing, and suppliers to improve processes while providing leadership, coaching, and training to the quality team in support of organizational goals. This job description outlines the primary responsibilities of the position; however, it is not limited to the duties listed and may include additional responsibilities as assigned by management .
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversee daily quality assurance activities to ensure products meet company and customer quality standards. Evaluate and resolve quality issues by implementing corrective actions and driving continuous improvement initiatives. Perform inspections and final quality audits on completed trucks to verify compliance with specifications. Develop, implement, and enforce quality policies, procedures, and standards across all applicable departments. Collaborate with production, engineering, purchasing, and suppliers to resolve quality concerns and improve manufacturing processes. Coordinate with vendors to schedule repairs and ensure the timely return of trucks requiring rework. Supervise department personnel by assigning work, monitoring performance, coaching and developing employees, managing attendance, and ensuring compliance with company policies, quality standards, and safety requirements. Conduct daily team meetings to communicate priorities, quality expectations, safety updates, and operational goals. Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, and training new employees. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; technical training or an associate degree preferred. 2-5 years of experience in quality assurance, manufacturing, heavy truck, or automotive repair Supervisory experience preferred. Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot quality issues. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and hydraulic and electrical schematics. Knowledge of quality inspection methods, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes. Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and team-building skills. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time management abilities. Proficient with Microsoft Office and basic computer applications. Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and able to work independently and collaboratively. Committed to maintaining a safe work environment and promoting continuous improvement. High degree of attention to detail, self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision. General Physical Requirements light to moderate work

  • electric current; oils and lubricants; moving mechanical parts; chemical cleaners and solvents; sharp edges on stainless steel and other components and metal shavings airborne dust, occasional intense light from welding in work area or adjacent work areas; working on elevated platforms, ladders, and scaffolds
Physical Activities, Ergonomic Considerations:
this position may be exposed to: standing, walking for majority of work shift reaching in any direction, above and below shoulder level lifting, carrying, pulling, pushing objects weighing up to 40 lbs. performing work in a crouched, squatting, kneeling, or stooped position (body bent forward and down from waist) for extended periods of time crawling under trucks and truck chassis and performing precision work while laying prone or crouched with arms raised upwards, for extended periods repetitive grasping, pinching with fingers; repetitive pulling, pushing, twisting of wrists, elbows, and shoulders balancing while on an elevated platform, ladder, or scaffold stepping up to work surfaces up to 26 inches in height.
