Production Manager | Metal Manufacturing Take the Lead in a High-Impact Manufacturing Operation We're looking for an experienced Production Manager to lead a team of approximately 45-50 employees across a diverse metal manufacturing operation, including stamping, laser, welding, and assembly . This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and knows how to get the best out of people, processes, and equipment . You'll play a key role in driving safety, quality, productivity, on-time delivery, and continuous improvement while developing a strong, accountable production team. What You'll Do Lead & Develop Your Team Lead, coach, and develop approximately 45-50 employees across stamping, laser, welding, and assembly operations. Mentor supervisors, leads, and production employees to build an engaged, accountable, and high-performing team. Set clear expectations for safety, quality, productivity, attendance, and performance . Conduct performance reviews, provide ongoing coaching, and identify opportunities for employee development and advancement. Drive Production & Performance Oversee daily production activities to ensure schedules and customer delivery commitments are consistently met . Partner with Production Planning to prioritize work orders and adjust staffing, equipment, and resources based on changing production demands. Monitor production output, labor utilization, machine capacity, workflow, and schedule adherence . Identify production bottlenecks and implement solutions to improve throughput and keep operations moving efficiently. Collaborate with Quality, Tooling, Planning, and other departments to resolve issues and maintain production standards. Champion Safety & Quality Promote a strong, proactive safety-first culture across the production floor. Ensure compliance with company safety policies and applicable OSHA requirements . Reinforce quality expectations and work cross-functionally to address production and quality concerns. Lead Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, throughput, quality, workflow, and labor utilization . Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to eliminate waste and improve overall operational performance. Lead continuous improvement and process optimization initiatives that deliver measurable results. Help create sustainable improvements that support both immediate production goals and long-term operational excellence. What We're Looking For Required Qualifications 4+ years of production management experience in a manufacturing environment. 2+ years of management experience within metal manufacturing . Experience in metal fabrication, machining, welding, sheet metal, or industrial manufacturing . Strong people leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, employee development, and performance management . Demonstrated success with continuous improvement and process improvement initiatives . Hands-on knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and practices . Experience working with ERP/MRP systems for production scheduling and resource management. Ability to evaluate production output, labor utilization, machine capacity, workflow, and overall operational performance. Strong problem-solving, organizational, communication, and decision-making skills . A consistent focus on safety, quality, productivity, and on-time delivery . Even Better If You Have Experience in a metal stamping environment . Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies and tools . Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field. Experience working with formal Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement programs. Experience partnering across Planning, Quality, Tooling, Engineering, and Operations . Experience working within an ITAR-controlled manufacturing environment . 📅 Monday-Friday ⏰ Approximately 6:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m. or 6:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Bloomington, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $140000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
