Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Machine Shop Supervisor to lead a high-performing machining department in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing daily machining operations, ensuring production targets are met safely, efficiently, and with high quality. The ideal candidate is a hands-on machining leader with strong CNC knowledge who can coach, develop, and guide production teams while continuously improving processes and performance. This is a working leadership role where you will be deeply involved in people leadership, production oversight, and technical problem-solving . Duties Lead, coach, and develop machining staff to ensure strong performance, accountability, and teamwork Oversee daily machining operations to meet safety, quality, cost, and delivery goals Ensure efficient production of machined components in a high-volume environment Support and enforce safety standards and compliance protocols across the shop Read, interpret, and work from blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings Troubleshoot machining issues and support continuous improvement initiatives Optimize machining processes to reduce cost, improve quality, and increase efficiency Collaborate with other department leaders to ensure smooth production flow Monitor budgets and operational performance within assigned area Ensure adherence to labor agreements and company policies Train operators on CNC setup, inspection, and best practices Required Qualifications 5+ years of machining or machining supervision experience in a manufacturing environment Strong hands-on experience with CNC mills and lathes Experience with Fanuc controls required Ability to program, edit, set up, and troubleshoot CNC machines Strong understanding of machining processes and manufacturing workflows Experience using inspection tools (calipers, height gauges, bore gauges, etc.) Ability to read blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.) Preferred Qualifications Technical degree in machining, manufacturing, or related field SAP or ERP system experience Prior experience supervising in a union environment Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience Physical Requirements Ability to move throughout a manufacturing facility Lift up to 45 lbs unassisted Climb stairs, ladders, or scaffolding as needed Benefits Medical, Dental & Vision insurance - eligible day 1 401(k) with company match Quarterly bonus potential 13 paid company holidays Paid time off (PTO) accrual Company-paid short & long-term disability Company-paid life insurance Paid birthday day off $6,000 annual tuition reimbursement Provided tools, uniforms, safety shoes & glasses Secure, free onsite parking Why This Role This is a strong opportunity for a machining professional who wants to step into a leadership role with technical depth , while still staying close to the shop floor. Pay:
$75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
