Role Purpose Corning Incorporated is seeking an Operations Team Leader to join our Newton, NC cable manufacturing facility. In this hands-on leadership role, you will oversee night-shift operations across key cable production processes — leading a team of 30-40 hourly associates and 2-3 Operations Coordinators with a focus on safety, performance, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities Own shift safety — ensure PPE compliance, enforce documented procedures, and proactively identify and resolve unsafe conditions for all employees on your team Drive production performance by managing schedules, staffing, and equipment assignments to optimize product flow, on-time delivery, and cost efficiency Develop and coach your team through structured training plans, performance accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement — including kaizen participation and lean project support Maintain world-class housekeeping and 5S standards; ensure ISO compliance across all production functions in your assigned area Lead continuous improvement initiatives including bottleneck identification, yield improvement, corrective action implementation, and new product or process introductions Understand key cost drivers and make informed decisions that balance lowest cost with highest output — including overtime management and labor/staffing optimization Experiences/Education

- Required Bachelor of Science with 1
- 3 years in a manufacturing environment OR 3
- 5 years work experience in a manufacturing environment Demonstrated capacity to take initiative, provide direction, and drive successful outcomes in collaborative environments Demonstrated ability to perform root cause analysis and drive problem resolution in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment with evolving priorities and changing business needs Experiences/Education
- Desired Engineering, Technology, Business or Physical sciences centered-degree 2-3 years previous supervisory experience Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively across all levels of a plant organization, from frontline employees to senior leadership This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $88,942.00
