Job Summary Rooted N Furniture & Slabs is hiring a Woodshop Supervisor to oversee daily woodshop production, coordinate woodworking activities, and support a safe, efficient, and organized workshop environment. This role supervises shop employees, coordinates project workflow, monitors quality, manages materials, and helps ensure custom woodworking projects are completed according to specifications. Common Job Roles Woodshop Supervisor Woodworking Shop Supervisor Woodshop Manager Wood Production Supervisor Furniture Workshop Supervisor Key Responsibilities Supervise daily woodshop operations and production activities Assign tasks and coordinate workflow among woodworking team members Train, support, and monitor employees on proper shop procedures Review work orders, measurements, drawings, and project specifications Oversee cutting, milling, sanding, assembly, and finishing activities Inspect materials and finished products for quality and accuracy Monitor lumber, slabs, hardware, tools, and other shop inventory Coordinate material preparation and staging for production Maintain woodworking equipment and report maintenance or repair needs Enforce workplace safety, equipment-use, and shop organization procedures Help resolve production issues and adjust workflow as needed Communicate project status and operational concerns to management Perform additional supervisory and woodworking duties assigned by management Requirements Previous woodworking, carpentry, furniture production, manufacturing, or workshop supervisory experience preferred Strong knowledge of woodworking tools, equipment, and production processes Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills Strong attention to detail and measurement accuracy Ability to manage multiple projects and production priorities Ability to safely lift, carry, and handle lumber and woodworking materials Strong commitment to workplace safety and quality standards Preferred Skills Experience supervising a woodworking or furniture production team Knowledge of live-edge slabs, lumber preparation, and custom furniture production Familiarity with saws, planers, routers, sanders, and other woodworking equipment Strong quality-control and problem-solving abilities Good inventory and workflow management skills Ability to coach and develop woodworking team members About the Company Rooted N Furniture & Slabs operates in the custom woodworking and furniture industry, working with wood materials and slabs to support furniture and specialty woodworking projects.
