Job Summary Under the general direction of the Supervisor, assists in the coordination of activities in a production department, applying knowledge of production methods, processes, manpower and equipment. Serves as a back up to the Supervisor during temporary absences of the Supervisor. Observes all safety regulations including the use of personal protective equipment applicable to the use of electrical tooling and equipment, the use of heavy equipment and machinery, and the use of chemicals.
Duties / Responsibilities
Oversees a variety of complex operations and duties in the production area(s). Communicates with department personnel regarding processes, material, equipment, product quality, efficiency, and schedules. Assists in the transition of new products and processes into production. Able to train department personnel in all aspects of production processes. Assists in the training of new personnel. Assists in the development of operator skill level. Implements planned production schedules. Reviews schedules to coordinate materials, tooling, labor, and capacity. Identifies constraints and develops solutions. Provides production assignments to operators. Monitors machine and equipment performance. Coordinates maintenance mechanics for PM schedules and major machine repairs. Teaches and trains new operators. Sets up work areas and provides guidelines, instructions, and demonstrations. Coordinates with Training department personnel. Makes decisions on the quality of in-process assemblies and finished goods. Participates in the FAAR process where required. Assists the Engineering and Sales staff in the development of new products, pilots, and samples including the development of manufacturing processes and documentation. Oversees inventory management, coordinates cycle counts and reconciliation of inaccurate inventory balances. Monitors stock of consumables and expense items. Creates purchase requisitions for timely replenishment. Ability to read and understand product structures, work instructions and prints. As part of a team, supports and participates in continuous improvement activities. Completes production assignments as required. Dispositions rejected product to appropriate areas. Interacts positively with co-workers and leadership team.
Education / Experience
Typically, 3-5 years' related on-the-job experience. Experience soldering, laminating, electrical and mechanical assembly, and testing based on requirements in assigned production group. Based on assigned production group, may be required to obtain a DOT medical certification with previous experience driving a (non-CDL) box truck, forklift, manlift and powered pallet jack.

Duties Assist in managing daily production activities on the factory floor, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to schedules Supervise and coordinate assembly line teams, providing guidance and support to meet production goals Monitor safety protocols rigorously, ensuring compliance with all safety standards and procedures in the manufacturing facility Utilize measuring instruments and interpret technical drawings to verify product specifications and quality standards Operate power tools, hand tools, forklifts, and other machinery safely and efficiently during assembly and production tasks Support process improvement initiatives by identifying inefficiencies and suggesting solutions to enhance productivity Conduct manual handling tasks, including heavy lifting, while maintaining proper safety procedures to prevent injuries Qualifications Proven factory experience with knowledge of manufacturing processes and safety standards in production environments Hands-on experience with assembly line operations and managing production or assembly teams Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and using measuring instruments for quality control Mechanical knowledge complemented by experience with hand tools, power tools, forklifts, and other factory equipment Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and process improvement techniques Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting when required Strong understanding of safety protocol adherence within a manufacturing setting Join us as an Assistant Supervisor Production to be part of a vibrant team committed to excellence!
