A Production Shift Supervisor oversees employees working on multiple production lines. Assigns tasks and adjusts workloads to meet production goals, schedules and monitors training and assess progress of the employees, monitors production quality and uses leadership skills to solve problems with employees.
6-12+ Month Contract We're seeking an experienced Production Plant Supervisor to lead a high-volume manufacturing operation on 2nd shift. This role is responsible for supervising up to 80-120 production associates while driving safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced union manufacturing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous manufacturing leadership experience who enjoys developing teams, improving processes, and creating an efficient production operation. Responsibilities Supervise daily production operations for a large manufacturing team Lead 80-120 production associates in a fast-paced assembly environment Ensure production goals, quality standards, safety, and delivery schedules are achieved Conduct quality investigations and resolve production issues Support Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives Monitor labor utilization, productivity, TAKT attainment, and production metrics Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, HR, Materials, Finance, and Continuous Improvement teams Ensure compliance with plant policies, work rules, payroll practices, and collective bargaining agreements Coach, mentor, evaluate, and develop production employees Promote a safe, positive, and team-oriented work environment Requirements 1-3+ years of manufacturing supervisory experience Experience supervising production employees in a manufacturing environment Experience leading hand assembly or automated assembly operations Strong leadership and conflict resolution skills Experience using Microsoft Excel Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities Ability to work onsite 2nd Shift (2:30 PM-11:15 PM) Preferred Experience Bachelor's Degree Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma experience Union manufacturing environment High-volume manufacturing Experience overseeing 80+ production employees Construction, restaurant, hospitality, or similar leadership backgrounds with manufacturing experience are encouraged Job Disclaimer Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled Benefit offerings include medical, dental, vision, term life insurance, short-term disability insurance, additional voluntary benefits, commuter benefits and 401K plan.
