Mayer Bros. Apple Products, Inc. is seeking a Blowmold Supervisor who is available to work in our West Seneca, NY facility. Mayer Bros. Apple Products, Inc. is a family-owned beverage manufacturing facility est.1852. It is one of the leading beverage companies which also has a blow molding department which produces 1 gallon & ½ gallon quality bottles for the food beverage.
About Position:
- Direct hire position.
- Pay rate starting at $22.00 an hour based on skills and experience.
- 1st Shift hours: 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- 24/7 operation with flexible schedule.
Job Function:
Responsible for coordinating daily production activities to meet daily/weekly/monthly goals. General expectations include staying focused on identified goals and drive results; set clear expectations for team; coach, develop and motivate team; hold employees accountable and keep team informed by ensuring effective inter and intra department communication. Under direction of the Blowmold Manager, perform assigned responsibilities to support the safe and productive manufacture of quality product and to meet the goals and daily production targets on all machines within the Blowmold department. Perform basic maintenance to keep the machines in optimal working condition. Perform regular quality checks on product and rectify if required.
Job Responsibilities:
Ensure effective employee relations by providing employee coaching, corrective action and development. Makes employment decisions. Resolves employee issues through problem resolution. Manages departmental performance measures, including visual controls and provides regular progress reports to manager. Responsible for assisting in the training and development of production employees and ensuring that they comply with all SOP's. Plan and direct production activities and establish production priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors. Provide safe and efficient operation of the 6-head Uniloy Blow Mold machines, trimmers, leak testers, baggers, grinders, and chillers. Perform machine startup, parison/weight adjustment, basic machine troubleshooting for quality product. Perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on equipment as necessary. Responsible for coordinating shift production needs and reporting paperwork. Maintaining the master list of documents. Maintaining food safety and food quality through completing job tasks and maintaining the work area in a sanitary manner. All duties relating to product quality control. Oversee loading of product into trailers. Other related duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- Experience in fast paced manufacturing. Plastic experience is a plus and preferred
- 3-4 years of lead/supervisory manufacturing experience. Preferably in plastics environment.
- In addition to troubleshooting skills, someone with problem resolution to ensure that all products and processes are continuously improving.
- Must exhibit working knowledge of in-plant and regulatory
SQF, FDA
audits and inspection, operations of equipment and plant, etc.
- Balances quality, productivity, cost, safety, and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment with little direct supervision.
Computer Skills:
MS Word, Excel & Outlook.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to work in loud noise and fast paced factory environment.
- Ability to bend, lift, twist, reach, lean over, stoop and stand on regular basis.
- Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs occasionally.
