Job Description

PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR
2nd Shift The Production Supervisor ensures their shift's production operates safely, efficiently and on schedule. The right candidate is self-driven with demonstrated success meeting quality and productivity bench marks leading his/her team. This Supervisor is the key driver promoting product/process safety, delivery and group morale.
JOB OVERVIEW
The Production Supervisor holds primary responsibility for overseeing production, managing multiple priorities across the shop floor and overseeing employee duties.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
  • Provides direction to manage crew
  • Ensures effective employee relations through coaching and employee development
  • Develops team oriented work force
  • Provides adequate time, training support and other resources to ensure employees understand their roles/responsibilities Production Management
  • Measures/tracks production goals by process
  • Performs other tasks/duties as assigned Safety
  • Hazmat and Forklift training (tested required)
  • Enforces OSHA and Safety Regulations
  • Honors all safety rules/regulations/training to ensure a safe working environment
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS
The Employee will learn the different types and sizes of signs as well as the methods to produce such signs according to customer requirements. The Employee will learn to read excel spread sheets detailing sign requirements including:
  • Thickness of Aluminum
  • Aluminum Extrusion differences
  • Reflective Sheeting Types
  • Hardware requirements
  • Assembly methods The Employee will master through experience how to cut, peel, and apply different grades of sheeting, film, contact paper and black vinyl onto sign substrate in preparation for handling.
The material handler will learn crane operations to lift signs as well as protect, load, and store them.
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
All Employees are required to read/sign Safety Rules and Maintenance Safety as well as complete the Welcome Packet. All employees receive a pair of safety glasses and ear protection before working the floor.
  • The Employee will wear all assigned PPE (provided) when working within the plant at all times.
  • The Employee will conduct a preventive maintenance check before operating equipment (checklist posted next to equipment).
  • The Employee will maintain a safe working environment at all times.
  • Any Supervisor is authorized to issue a safety violation notice.
Once issued, a safety notice is added to an individual's personnel file.
TOOLS:
Eye protection, gloves, ear protection (as needed), calculator, masking tape, clear tape, box cutters, tape measure, dry clean wipes, broom/dustpan (housekeeping)
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS
  • High School diploma
  • 3-5 yrs Manufacturing Experience
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Attention to Detail
