Job Description
Mushroom Grower - Hands-On Agricultural Leadership Role We are looking for a Mushroom Grower to join our agricultural production team. This is a hands-on crop management and leadership position, not a general production or harvesting role. The Grower will rotate through the mushroom growing process developing a complete understanding of each stage of the growing cycle. This position combines crop management with day-to-day team leadership and requires someone who is comfortable working directly in the production environment while supervising employees and supporting daily operations. What You'll Do Monitor mushroom crops throughout the growing cycle. Inspect growing rooms and evaluate crop development and overall crop health Monitor environmental conditions including temperature, humidity, ventilation, and growing-room conditions Identify changes or problems that may affect crop quality, development, or yield Make or coordinate adjustments to growing conditions based on crop needs Monitor watering and other crop-care activities Maintain accurate growing, crop, and production records Supervise and coordinate daily activities of production teams Provide direction, training, and support to employees throughout the workday Monitor employee performance, productivity, and adherence to established procedures Coordinate labor and daily priorities based on crop and production needs Work closely with Production, Harvesting, Maintenance, Food Safety, EHS, and other departments Follow and reinforce food safety, sanitation, PPE, and workplace safety requirements Perform hands-on work in growing and production areas as needed What We're Looking For Previous experience supervising teams of at least 15 employees Experience in agriculture, horticulture, crop production, mushroom production, greenhouse operations, food production, or a related production environment Valid driver's license Demonstrated ability to lead employees and coordinate daily production activities Strong observation, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills Ability to learn and understand technical growing processes Ability to understand how environmental conditions can affect crop development Ability to maintain accurate records and follow established growing procedures Comfortable working in varying temperatures, humidity levels, and agricultural production environments Ability to walk, stand, bend, and perform hands-on physical work throughout the workday Dependable and able to work according to crop and production schedules Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills Previous mushroom-growing experience is preferred but not required. Candidates with strong supervisory experience in agriculture, horticulture, greenhouse operations, crop production, food production, or similar hands-on production environments are encouraged to apply.
