The Injection Molding Supervisor will oversee the technical and processing components of the Injection Department's daily operations. This role is responsible for ensuring molding equipment is operating optimally to meet production targets and Key Performance Indicators. Do you have what it takes? Provide management leadership to assigned technical support staff within the injection molding team. Complete daily triage of assigned molding area, assign and deploy resources as needed. Supervise and coordinate injection molding manufacturing and continuous improvement activities to achieve annual KPI's for quality, safety, and efficiency. Collaborate with other departments as necessary to facilitate mold improvement projects to meet predefined objectives, timelines and outcomes; to include recovering lost cavitation, reducing cycle time, reducing scrap and improving OEE. Supervise and coordinate technical support teams to drive operation efficiency and production goals. Coordinate, prioritize, and support the installation and testing of new molding equipment and tooling along with mold rebuilds and repairs. Report potential machine or work hazards, comply with safety standards, respond immediately to emergency machine problems, and ensure the safety of co-workers within designated work areas. Develop or revise standard operational and working practices and observes to ensure compliance with standards. Investigate production issues and develop resolutions. Act as the primary liaison for departmental escalations unrelated to personnel matters; Facilitating workflow issue resolution and process improvements. Demonstrate commitment to following all processes and procedures and Airlite Core Values. Other duties and audits as assigned.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE / CERTIFICATIONS
Experience in the technical management of plastics manufacturing or a related industry, with proven leadership and departmental management experience. Injection Molding Experience preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required; further education or certifications in manufacturing or management fields beneficial. Training/Knowledge/Experience in lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED
In-depth knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety standards in a manufacturing environment. Ability to translate technical information to non-technical team members. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with experience in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools to monitor and optimize department performance. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with team members, cross-functional teams and management. Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing priorities. Must be able to work well with others, build partnerships and support team members. Must be self-motivated and positive. Flexible and adaptable. Display highest ethical standards. Upholds and supports organizational goals and Core Values. Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance. Takes initiative and asks for help when needed.
