ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE
: high school diploma, associate degree, technical school, military training or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
The
EMPLOYEE
must have the ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. The
EMPLOYEE
must have the ability to write correspondence. The
EMPLOYEE
must have the ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and subordinates in the organization.

must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The

is regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms and is frequently required to walk. The

is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; and talk or hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employee is required to stand on his/her feet for approximately 9 hours every day.
EMPLOYEE
will be occasionally required to lift to 50 pounds and regularly lift up to 25 pounds with some lifting to be overhead.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an

encounters while performing the essential functions of this job: While performing the duties of this job, the
EMPLOYEE
is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud, and for safety reasons hearing protection is mandatory in all areas of the facility except break rooms and offices.
AVAILABILITY
The
EMPLOYEE
must have flexibility in their scheduling to work more than 9 hours a day and more than 5 days a week when business needs dictate. Production Supervisor Job Description Page 2 KEY
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Ensure safety of all employees through training and managing of safety concerns. Coordinate evacuation and any other safety measures with maintenance in the event of an emergency, to include verifying head count from leads at assembly area. Ensure that the production personnel and operations conform to all GMP, sanitation and regulatory requirements. Direct activities of production department in an efficient manner ensuring company and customer product quality standards are met. This includes but is not limited to: making product to spec, line set up and speed, proper case counts/inventory, check sheets/paperwork, metal detection challenges per HAACP and changeovers. Oversee training and developing of new employees to meet or exceed job requirements. Work to address and minimize interpersonal conflicts that arise between employees. Schedule production employees efficiently and cost-effectively. Review performance of all production employees according to schedule. Recommend or initiate personnel actions such as hiring, promotions, wage increases, job transfers, discharges and appropriate actions and/or performance improvement plans required as part of disciplinary action process. Attend all meetings, training sessions, and/or seminars as required by management. These can include both on-site and off-site events. Confer with management, maintenance, sanitation, warehouse and transportation regarding production schedule daily as needed to coordinate departments. Perform all other duties as assigned by the plant manager.
GENERAL PERFORMANCE
Keep downtime at a minimum. Make all efforts to minimize waste. Must be willing to upgrade skills as necessary. Must be extremely flexible in shift and job requirements.
