York, PA About the Position We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join our team in a full-time salaried position. This is a floater role , meaning the successful candidate must be flexible and willing to work across different shifts based on production needs. The Production Supervisor will oversee production activities, supervise production personnel, ensure production schedules are met, maintain quality and safety standards, and work closely with other departments to keep operations running efficiently. The work schedule will be provided approximately 2-3 weeks in advance . Candidates must be comfortable adjusting their schedule between day and evening/overnight operations as business needs require. Shift:
Approximately 5:00 AM•5:00 PM 2nd
Shift:
Approximately 1:00 PM•10:00 PM 24/7
Operations:
Approximately 6:00 PM•6:00 AM Schedule may vary based on production needs. Employees will receive their schedule approximately 2-3 weeks in advance . Must be willing and able to work both day and 2nd-shift hours as needed. Key Responsibilities Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to ensure efficient operations. Monitor production lines to ensure equipment is properly set up and operating correctly. Ensure production flows smoothly and identify potential delays involving employees, equipment, or product. Coordinate with Maintenance to address equipment issues and minimize production downtime. Work with Quality Assurance to maintain high product quality standards. Monitor production data and ensure accurate and timely reporting. Schedule and coordinate production activities to meet operational goals. Supervise, train, and motivate production employees. Conduct safety orientations and training as needed. Enforce safe work practices and address unsafe conditions. Investigate workplace accidents and assist with corrective actions. Ensure production areas remain clean and meet established sanitation requirements. Assist with employee training, performance issues, attendance, discipline, and other personnel matters. Assist with the hiring and onboarding of new production employees. Review employee timecards and ensure accurate reporting. Communicate production schedules and cleaning requirements to appropriate departments. Promote a positive and productive work environment. Ensure compliance with food safety, GMP, HACCP, quality, and other applicable requirements. Perform other duties and assignments as directed by management.
Qualifications Required:
Previous supervisory experience in a food processing, packaging, filling, manufacturing, or similar production environment . Proven ability to supervise and motivate employees. Strong communication skills with employees and management at all levels. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced production environment. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and understand written instructions, schedules, and production documentation. Basic computer skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule and move between shifts as required. Reliable attendance and punctuality. Commitment to workplace safety and quality.
Preferred:
Strong knowledge of production equipment, including equipment setup, operation, and basic maintenance. Working knowledge of Human Resources practices and employee relations.
