Production Supervisor Job Description The Production Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day management of all production activities, including overseeing production-related people, safety, quality, delivery, and cost activities. This role requires handling inventory management of critical production supplies and leading continuous improvement projects to enhance compliance, productivity, and costs within the facility. Responsibilities Manage production according to established specifications, ensuring conformance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), Safe Work Practices, and company policies. Oversee inventory management of critical supplies to meet production needs. Maintain and optimize production schedules, daily performance metrics, and reduce unplanned downtime, scrap, and rejects, while recommending and implementing improvements. Motivate and develop employees through coaching, positive influence, team building, daily communication, and accountability management. Facilitate training and development of production employees, ensuring they possess the skills, knowledge, and competence to efficiently, effectively, and safely carry out their duties to cGMP/GDP standards. Report, investigate, and address deviations from validated processes and procedures in accordance with company requirements and timelines. Prioritize safety, health, and environmental procedures, identifying, investigating, correcting, and documenting potential environmental and safety issues. Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and oversee waste handling, storage, and disposal for the facility. Develop respectful relationships with direct reports, department managers, and coworkers to foster collaboration and share knowledge for continuous improvement. Respond to internal and external inquiries in a timely manner. Manage attendance, including absenteeism, and ensure accurate payroll processing through the ADP time-keeping system. Essential Skills 5+ years of supervisory experience in a production/manufacturing environment. Bachelor's degree or College degree in a related field. Strong knowledge of FDA, cGMP regulations, and quality standards in the pharmaceutical industry. Working knowledge of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). Exposure to problem-solving and continuous improvement methodologies. Strong technical aptitude and leadership abilities. Proven relationship-building skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Interpersonal skills and a professional attitude. Proficiency in MS suite of programs. Additional Skills & Qualifications At least 2 years of experience in an aseptic manufacturing environment is considered an asset.
