METAL FABRICATION SHOP FOREMAN
Know fabrication? Know how to lead a crew? TEX is looking for a hands-on Shop Foreman who can take projects from blueprint to finished product while keeping quality, production, and deadlines on track. This role oversees a sheet metal fabrication team supporting industrial and commercial projects. We need someone who understands the equipment, can solve problems on the shop floor, and leads by example.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Supervise daily shop operations and direct the fabrication team. Work with the Operations Superintendent to carry projects from final plan design through completion. Coordinate labor, materials, and production schedules to meet project requirements. Read and interpret blueprints, patterns, templates, and complex specifications. Select proper stock materials and plan fabrication sequences. Perform welding and fabrication using appropriate methods and equipment. Design and fabricate dies, jigs, and fixtures as needed. Maintain accuracy, quality workmanship, and safe work practices throughout production.
WHAT YOU BRING
5+ years of experience with industrial and commercial applications. High school diploma or GED. Ability to lead a team, organize workloads, and keep projects moving. Strong blueprint-reading skills and knowledge of sheet metal trade practices. Working knowledge of fabrication math, geometry, materials, and welding methods. Ability to operate sheet metal fabrication equipment, including: Hydraulic press brakes, shears, and plasma cutting tables. Pittsburgh and TDC machines, rollers, hand brakes, and bead-forming equipment. Drill presses, band saws, plasma and track torches. MIG/TIG welders, overhead cranes, and forklifts. Forklift license may be required.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Active fabrication shop with regular standing, moving machinery, noise, and exposure to fumes or airborne particles. Duties involve lifting up to 10 lbs regularly, 25 lbs frequently, and 50 lbs occasionally. Reasonable accommodations may be made to perform essential job functions.
