Powder Coat Manager About GNB Global GNB Global is a leading manufacturer of engineered fabric structures serving customers throughout North America. Position Summary GNB Global is seeking an experienced Powder Coat Manager to lead all powder coating operations within our manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for overseeing production, quality, safety, personnel development, equipment maintenance, and continuous improvement initiatives. The Powder Coat Manager will ensure products meet customer specifications while maximizing productivity, efficiency, and profitability. Essential Responsibilities Lead and manage all powder coating department operations. Supervise, coach, and develop supervisors and powder coat technicians. Plan daily production schedules to meet customer deadlines. Ensure all products meet coating thickness, adhesion, appearance, and quality standards. Oversee surface preparation, powder application, curing, and final inspection processes. Monitor department productivity and implement continuous improvement initiatives. Develop and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs). Maintain inventory of powders, chemicals, consumables, and equipment. Coordinate preventive maintenance for powder coating equipment, spray systems, and curing ovens. Analyze production metrics, scrap rates, rework, downtime, and labor efficiency. Partner with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Safety teams to improve processes. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, environmental requirements, and company safety policies. Conduct employee performance evaluations, coaching, disciplinary actions, and training. Assist with budgeting, capital equipment planning, and department forecasting. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. 7+ years of powder coating experience in manufacturing. 3+ years of leadership experience managing manufacturing teams. Strong knowledge of electrostatic powder coating systems. Experience with structural steel or large fabricated components preferred. Knowledge of coating thickness measurement and inspection standards. Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma preferred. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience with conveyorized and batch powder coating systems. Forklift and overhead crane experience. ERP/MRP manufacturing software experience. OSHA safety training.
