Powder Coat Supervisor Location:
Boyd, TX (On-Site) About GNB Global GNB Global is a leading manufacturer of engineered fabric structures serving customers throughout North America. Position Summary GNB Global is seeking a Powder Coat Supervisor to oversee the daily operations of the powder coating department. This position is responsible for supervising employees, maintaining production schedules, ensuring quality standards, enforcing safety policies, and supporting continuous improvement efforts. Essential Responsibilities Supervise daily powder coating operations and department employees. Assign work and monitor production schedules. Train, coach, and mentor powder coat technicians. Ensure proper surface preparation, powder application, curing, and inspection. Verify coating thickness, adhesion, finish quality, and product specifications. Troubleshoot coating defects and implement corrective actions. Ensure department follows all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and environmental regulations. Perform daily quality inspections and maintain production records. Coordinate routine equipment maintenance and report repair needs. Monitor powder inventory and material usage. Collaborate with Production, Quality, Engineering, and Shipping departments. Lead daily shift meetings and communicate production priorities. Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work environment. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. 5+ years of powder coating experience in manufacturing. 2+ years of supervisory or team lead experience preferred. Experience operating electrostatic powder coating systems. Knowledge of surface preparation, coating applications, and curing processes. Strong leadership and communication skills. Ability to read work orders, blueprints, and production schedules. Strong problem-solving and organizational abilities. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a manufacturing environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience coating structural steel or fabricated metal products. Knowledge of coating inspection equipment and quality standards. Forklift and overhead crane experience. Lean Manufacturing experience. Key Difference Between the
Two Roles Powder Coat Manager:
Owns the entire department, including staffing, budgeting, KPIs, strategic planning, continuous improvement, and overall performance.
Powder Coat Supervisor:
Leads the day-to-day shop floor operations, manages employees on the shift, ensures production goals are met, and reports to the Manager.
