The Production Supervisor partners with store leadership to ensure donated goods are processed accurately, safely, and efficiently to support sales floor readiness and store performance. Store Level Assignment Production Supervisor levels (PS I & II) are determined by the volume, staffing, and operational complexity of the assigned store. All Production Supervisors are expected to perform the full scope of responsibilities outlined in this job description. The assigned level reflects the scale and complexity of the store environment and aligns with established pay bands within the HRIS system. It does not represent differences in core job duties or decision-making authority. Key Responsibilities The following duties are representative of the essential functions of this position. Additional duties may be assigned as operational needs require. Donated Goods Processing & Product Flow Ensures incoming donations are accurately and efficiently sorted, priced, staged, and prepared for movement to the sales floor or designated processing areas. Proficiently performs sorting, pricing, tagging, staging, and related production duties across assigned categories. Maintains smooth product flow from donation intake through production, staging, and sales floor readiness. Coordinates with the Front-End Supervisor and store leadership to ensure product rotation is consistently and accurately maintained. Production Operations & Back-Room Standards Maintains production, back-room, and donation area standards including organization, cleanliness, safety, and efficient workflow. Ensures outbound product is accurately labeled, organized, and staged for pickup by the transportation team. Supports workflow planning, task delegation, and productivity goals to ensure quality, safety, and efficiency standards are met. Completes assigned departmental and store paperwork, reports, and records accurately and on time. Store Operations & Merchandising Support Supports store leadership in maintaining operational standards that contribute to sales floor readiness and a positive shopping experience. Assists with merchandise flow, staging, rotation, and recovery needs to support store performance and presentation standards. Identifies operational concerns in production, back-room, or donation areas and communicates opportunities for improvement to store leadership. Safeguards company equipment and property, including donated goods. Reports any incident of damage, misuse, theft, fraud, waste, or unauthorized possession of company property. Works various shifts, including weekends, as assigned. Team Leadership & Workforce Support Supports the training, coaching, and daily guidance of retail associates and program participants in partnership with store leadership. Provides feedback to store leadership regarding employee performance, customer service, and operational effectiveness. Models professionalism, accountability, and respectful leadership in all interactions with employees, customers, donors, and community members. Communicates effectively and appropriately with employees, program participants, customers, donors, the public, and store leadership using tact, courtesy, and cooperativeness. Compliance & Reporting Follows company policies, safety practices, loss prevention procedures, and production operational requirements. Supports safe handling of donated goods and proper use of production equipment, carts, bins, racks, and other store equipment as assigned. Performs other duties as assigned consistent with the needs of the store and HOT Goodwill's organizational goals. Supervisory Duties In the absence of the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager, the Production Supervisor serves as the leader on duty for production operations and supports the continued success of the store team and customer experience. Education and/or Experience Minimum Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required. Experience in retail, including supervisory or team lead responsibilities. Experience working with people of diverse backgrounds and experiences. Demonstrated ability to assist in managing daily store operations, including inventory, merchandising, and staffing. Experience coaching and supporting team members to achieve performance goals. Familiarity with loss prevention, safety procedures, and adherence to company policies. Strong problem-solving and customer service skills, including the ability to handle escalated customer or operational issues. Ability to support administrative tasks, scheduling, and achievement of store performance objectives. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, percentages, and basic pricing calculations. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced retail production environment.
