Job Description

Key Responsibilities Supervise day-to-day operations of the fabrication shop, ensuring safety, quality, and productivity goals are met. Lead and coordinate the work of welders, fitters, and other fabrication personnel. Review blueprints, specifications, and job orders to determine work assignments and material requirements. Ensure compliance with company, client, and regulatory safety standards (OSHA, API, ASME). Monitor production schedules and make adjustments to meet deadlines. Train, mentor, and evaluate employees to build a skilled and motivated workforce. Collaborate with Quality Control and Engineering teams to address nonconformance issues and implement corrective actions. Maintain accurate production and performance records, including shift reports and labor tracking. Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce waste. Assist with workforce planning, hiring recommendations, and disciplinary actions when necessary. Qualifications Minimum of 5+ years of supervisory experience in fabrication, pipe mill, or heavy manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of fabrication processes , including fitting, welding (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW), cutting, and finishing. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, P&IDs, and technical drawings . Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills. Proven track record of enforcing safety and quality standards. Familiarity with
API/ASME
codes and fabrication tolerances preferred. High school diploma or GED required; technical certification or associate degree a plus. Work Environment Fast-paced industrial setting in a heavy fabrication shop. Must be able to stand, walk, and supervise on the shop floor for extended periods. PPE required (hard hat, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, etc.).
