Description :
The Foreman is responsible for providing direct in-field supervision of a dirt crew working on all phases of construction for the company; all other related work as required. The Foreman is responsible for maintaining and improving upon the efficiency and effectiveness of all areas under his/her direction.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and coordinate grading crew activities, including hands-on equipment operation Interpret blueprints, layout work sites, and shoot grades using levels and GPS Inspect work for compliance with specs and safety standards Optimize production methods and crew efficiency Estimate materials, monitor schedules, and adjust workflows to meet deadlines Maintain strong knowledge of equipment capabilities and limitations
Position Requirements :
A minimum of 5 years of supervising / crew leadership experience A minimum of 8 years of experience of dirt and grading work (subgrade treatment, fine grading). A minimum of 8 year (overall) of operating large heavy equipment experience A minimum of 8 years of main roadway / highway construction experience required Work Safely Be able to carry 70 lbs. or more - frequent cross body movements such as bending, climbing, twisting, balancing, stooping, etc. High School diploma/GED preferred. Flexible availability to include overtime and weekends. Valid Driver's license Know how to shoot grade with level an some knowledge of GPS Good eye to hand coordination a must. Depth Perception required. Experience find grading with various pieces of equipment
