Job Description

Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fabrication Area Manager to lead our manufacturing and fabrication operations at our Federal Pacific facility in Bristol, Virginia. In this key leadership role, you will oversee daily production activities, ensure strict adherence to safety and quality standards, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your guidance will empower teams to meet production goals efficiently while maintaining precision, craftsmanship, and compliance with industry standards. Responsibilities :
Direct and supervise daily fabrication operations, ensuring quality, on‑time production, and cost‑effective performance. Lead, mentor, and develop fabrication supervisors and associate teams to promote high performance and accountability. Execute production plans, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and adjust resources to meet targets. Collaborate with operations, engineering, quality, and supply chain teams to troubleshoot production challenges and ensure alignment across departments. Maintain a safety‑first environment , enforcing compliance with OSHA, lockout/tagout, and company safety standards. Drive continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, 5S, waste reduction, and process optimization. Coordinate material flow, inventory status, and ensure fabrication tooling and equipment are ready for production runs. Monitor departmental performance and report on production output, quality metrics, and safety statistics. Support onboarding, training, and performance evaluations of fabrication personnel. Maintain housekeeping and organization standards throughout the fabrication area. Assist with equipment preventive maintenance coordination and communicate issues to maintenance teams to minimize downtime. Qualifications High School Diploma / GED required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in Industrial Management, Manufacturing, Engineering, or related field preferred. Proven leadership experience supervising manufacturing or fabrication teams, preferably in metal fabrication or industrial production environments. Strong understanding of fabrication processes such as cutting, welding, forming, and assembly. Experience interpreting blueprints, work orders, and production documentation. Demonstrated success implementing continuous improvement and Lean manufacturing practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to lead through influence and foster teamwork in a multi‑shift manufacturing environment. Knowledge of safety programs including lockout/tagout and forklift operations.
