Noon Job Summary:
The Operations Leader oversees daily manufacturing work in a specified area, guiding a team to meet quality, safety, and efficiency targets by managing area workflows, training staff, monitoring processes, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring schedules and procedures are followed for timely product delivery. Key duties involve leading teams, monitoring KPIs, coordinating logistics, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Essential Functions:
Production & Operations Management:
Coordinate daily production activities and workflow. Adjust schedules and assign staff to optimal positions for efficiency. Monitor equipment, detect malfunctions, and report issues to maintenance. Ensure adherence to production quotas, quality standards, and procedures.
Team Leadership & Training:
Assign daily tasks, managing shift handovers, and providing real-time feedback to staff. Direct, instruct, and assign work to production team members. Train new and existing employees on SOPs, processes, and safety. Monitor attendance, breaks, and provide performance feedback. Provide regular performance reviews. Onboarding and mentoring new hires on machinery, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and safety protocols.
Technical Support:
Troubleshoot production delays, performing minor technical corrections on machinery, and coordinating with maintenance teams.
Quality & Safety:
Monitor products and processes to maintain established quality standards and identify root causes for defects. Enforce strict safety protocols and a clean work environment. Conduct quality checks, identify defects, and assist with investigations. Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and material supply.
Reporting & Improvement:
Track production metrics (efficiency, quality) and report to management. Identify areas for process improvement and recommend changes. Communicate effectively with leaders and other departments.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities. Knowledge of manufacturing processes, safety regulations, and quality control. Ability to work in a fast-paced, potentially rotating shift environment.
Education and Experience:
Education:
A high school diploma or GED.
Experience:
5+ years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment, with prior leadership experience preferred.
