Oconomowoc, WI Job Summary:
The Production Supervisor oversees daily manufacturing operations to ensure safe, efficient, and consistent production while maintaining the highest standards of quality. This role is responsible for leading production teams, supervising Foremen and hourly employees, managing labor resources, and ensuring production goals are achieved while supporting the company's Vision and Mission. The Production Supervisor partners closely with plant leadership, quality control, maintenance, and operations teams to drive continuous improvement, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities & Duties Supervise daily manufacturing and yard operations to ensure safe, efficient, and productive workflows. Monitor production schedules and labor utilization to meet or exceed operational and budget goals. Maintain product quality standards and implement corrective actions when necessary. Manage labor allocation, employee scheduling, and daily timekeeping records. Prepare daily and weekly production reports for management review. Coordinate with Quality Control and plant leadership to ensure production goals and delivery schedules are achieved. Monitor material inventory and coordinate resource availability to support uninterrupted production. Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies while promoting a strong safety culture. Lead, coach, train, and develop Foremen and production team members to improve performance and accountability. Conduct employee performance evaluations and provide ongoing coaching and development. Oversee purchasing of manufacturing and maintenance supplies. Ensure proper maintenance and utilization of molds, equipment, machinery, and tools. Communicate production progress, operational challenges, and resource needs to plant leadership. Education & Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of 6-8 years of related manufacturing, concrete, precast, construction, or industrial production experience. Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred. Strong knowledge of production operations, labor planning, quality control, inventory management, and workplace safety. Proven ability to lead teams, develop employees, and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make operational decisions in a fast-paced production environment. Self-motivated with flexibility to support business demands and customer needs. Advanced Microsoft Office proficiency, including Excel and other business applications. Working knowledge of prestress manufacturing equipment and production processes is preferred. Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Commitment to supporting the County Materials Family of Companies' Vision and Mission. Physical & Mental Demands Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and handling materials or equipment. Occasional climbing, kneeling, crawling, and lifting or moving up to 25 pounds. Ability to concentrate, analyze production issues, communicate effectively, and safely perform job duties. May require operation of production equipment, tools, or company vehicles as needed. Work Environment Work is performed in both indoor manufacturing facilities and outdoor production environments. Exposure to varying weather conditions, loud machinery, dust, moving equipment, and industrial hazards. Up to 40% travel required for site visits, customer meetings, training, and operational support. Standard full-time schedule with flexibility to support production demands and business needs.
