Wixon has an immediate opening for a Production Supervisor in our Packaging and Blending department on 2nd shift. Below are some highlights of the position:
Job Summary:
Ensure daily production goals are met safely and efficiently while maintaining quality standards. Supervise department operations and develop employees to promote engagement, accountability, and continuous improvement.Essential Functions:
Achieve department and plant objectives for production, quality, safety, efficiency, budget control, and cost reduction. Provide leadership and guidance to employees to promote productivity, teamwork, accountability, and a positive work environment. Assign and coordinate employee responsibilities to meet production schedules while ensuring proper procedures, equipment use, changeovers, and maintenance. Monitor production efficiency and labor utilization to maximize quality output, control costs, and identify process improvements. Ensure quality products are produced in compliance with GMP requirements, quality standards, and departmental procedures. Support workplace safety initiatives and ISO requirements to maintain a safe, compliant, and continuously improving work environment. Manage employee relations and performance, including attendance, workplace concerns, work rules, and corrective actions. Maintain accurate employee and inventory records, including timekeeping, overtime, absences, inventory levels, and variances. Support departmental budgets and operational goals by controlling expenses and identifying cost-saving and efficiency opportunities.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in operations management, Business, or a related field preferred. Proficiency with computers and standard workplace software. 1-3 years of leadership experience required. Food packaging or processing experience highly preferred.
