Job Description
Production Supervisor - 1ST shift Uniroyal Engineered Products is a leading manufacturer of vinyl coated fabrics that are durable, stain resistant, cost-effective alternatives to leather, cloth and other synthetic fabric coverings. The company manufactures automotive, specialty and Naugahyde brand products at its manufacturing plant in Stoughton, Wisconsin. Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A. The company is not able to sponsor visas at this time. Job Summary The Production Supervisor will support 1ST shift operations in the supervision of production staff in support of the established production goals, ensure consistent standards of quality in a cost effective and safe work environment at our Stoughton, WI facility. Position Duties and Responsibilities Examine safety habits of employees and their work areas. Conduct weekly safety inspection checklist to ensure a safe work environment. Make sure all machines have proper safeguards in place and provide protective equipment to all workers as needed. The objective being a safe workplace and the reduction of workplace accidents, injuries and penalties. Maintain production and quality standards to meet production and shipping schedules without exceeding the targeted scrap rate and to minimize equipment down time and defects on each shift. Prepare production reports, work activities, raw material inventories and shipping orders at the end of each shift. Coordinate operations effectively for similar job orders and shipping dates to maximize efficiencies of process. Arrange coverage for employees due to sick time off, vacation, break-time, holidays, and overtime. Maintain and monitor records for attendance and hours worked. Actively participate, investigate and prepare employee accident reports and near miss reports along with corrective action and remedies to reduce the incident rates of workers compensation claims. Conduct employee training in equipment operation and work and safety procedures. Manage union represented employees in accordance with the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement and company s policies and procedures. Ensure that the Company s IATF and ISO certification standards are being followed in the production-related areas under the incumbent s supervision. Experience, Skills and Abilities Experienced in Team Building in a unionized environment preferred Strong interpersonal, decision-making and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment as well as ability to work with minimal supervision Good organizational skills are critical due to pressures of multi-tasking demands Excellent problem-solving skills Strong mechanical aptitude Ability to gather and analyze data Knowledge of IATF or
