We are hiring an experienced 2nd Shift Production Supervisor for a Sturgeon Bay metal fabrication company that builds large boat hoists, forklifts, and heavy-duty equipment for the marine industry . This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fabricator, welding lead, production lead, foreman, or supervisor who has a strong understanding of how a metal fabrication shop operates and is ready to take on greater leadership responsibility.
WHAT MAKES YOU A GREAT FIT?
The ideal candidate will have a very well-rounded knowledge of metal fabrication . You don't have to be an expert operator in every department, but you should understand the processes, equipment, and challenges involved in: Welding / fabrication CNC machining Laser cutting Press Brake operation Metal finishing Blueprint and fabrication drawing interpretation Weld symbols and fabrication requirements Material handling and production flow Quality control Shop safety and productivity We're looking for someone who can walk into a fabrication shop, understand what is happening on the floor, identify problems, and help the team keep production moving.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and coordinate 2nd shift production operations Lead, train, and support production employees Assign work and monitor daily production schedules Keep jobs moving efficiently through the fabrication process Monitor quality, productivity, attendance, and safety Troubleshoot production and fabrication issues Work closely with welding, machining, laser, press brake, finishing, and material handling personnel Help employees solve technical and production-related problems Ensure work is completed according to blueprints, specifications, and quality standards Communicate production issues and progress with management Identify opportunities to improve workflow, efficiency, and quality Maintain a safe, clean, and organized production environment Provide hands-on leadership and technical support when needed
IDEAL BACKGROUND
Strong candidates may have experience as a: Production Supervisor Fabrication Supervisor Welding Supervisor Fabrication Foreman Welding/Fabrication Lead Manufacturing Lead Senior Fabricator Production Lead The title matters less than your actual experience. We want someone who understands metal fabrication, knows how to lead people, and can take ownership of a production floor.
