This person will partner closely with Design, Technical Design, Product Development, and Production to create high-quality first patterns that reflect the brand's aesthetic, fit standards, and construction requirements. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise in women's RTW patternmaking, a sharp eye for proportion and fit, and the ability to translate design concepts into commercially viable garments. Responsibilities Create first patterns from sketches, technical flats, measurements, and design direction. Develop patterns for a range of RTW categories, including wovens, knits, dresses, tailoring, denim, and outerwear as needed. Attend fittings and collaborate with Technical Design to evaluate fit, balance, proportion, and construction. Make pattern corrections following fittings and maintain clear pattern documentation. Partner with Design and Product Development to ensure garments are aligned with the intended silhouette, fabric, and cost expectations. Advise on construction methods, fabric behavior, and pattern feasibility throughout development. Prepare patterns for grading, production handoff, and communication with factories and vendors. Maintain accuracy, organization, and version control across all patterns and supporting materials. Qualifications 5+ years of patternmaking experience in women's Ready-to-Wear, preferably within contemporary, premium, or luxury fashion. Strong knowledge of garment construction, fit, grading, and fabrication. Experience creating first patterns from concept through production. Proficiency in Gerber, Optitex, CLO, or comparable CAD patternmaking software. Strong understanding of fit standards across a range of body types and product categories. Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple development timelines in a fast-paced environment.
