Job Description

Client near Selma, CA is seeking to find Production Operator. Full time, $18/hour,12 hour shifts. Must be able to lift, carry, push and pull product for long periods of time.
Job Summary Job Title:
Production Operator Lowerline (Hand Packing, Repacking, Tag Man, Zimming)
Objective:
Set up and execute the manual packing and repacking of glass sheets (lites) independently or with team assistance. The role also involves operating Zimmer equipment to move glass, as well as printing and securing tags on product containers for shipping.
Core Responsibilities Preparation & Inspection:
Conduct pre-shift inspections, review task checklists, and communicate with coworkers regarding product quality.
Quality Control & Packing:
Visually inspect each glass sheet for defects before manually maneuvering and packing the glass into boxes. Equipment Operation (Zimming): Operate Zimmer equipment to move loaded glass through the production line to designated packing locations. Repacking (2-Person Task): Work with a coworker to pull, lift, push, and consolidate or dispose of large sheets of glass (up to 72 x 96 inches).
Tagging:
Use a computer workstation to review the production schedule, print labels, and walk to containers to secure tags onto product racks.
Housekeeping:
Maintain a clean workspace throughout the shift by sweeping, wiping surfaces, and removing glass debris using push brooms and debris carts.
Working Conditions & Requirements Schedule:
Rotating shift schedule alternating between days and nights every two weeks.
Environment:
Up to 100% indoor work with exposure to heat and noise.
Required PPE & Attire:
Hearing and eye protection, safety footwear (steel toe), high-visibility clothing, long pants, and cut-resistant gear including aprons, sleeves, and level 5 glass-packing gloves.
Tools & Equipment:
Zimmer equipment, computers, radios, phones, and standard cleaning tools (e.g., 5-10 ft. push brooms, dustpans, scoop shovels).
Physical Demands Continuous:
Standing (work height between 36-40 inches), walking on concrete and metal catwalks, reaching, and two-handed coordination.
Frequent:
Sitting (for computer tasks), pushing/pulling (3-20 lbs), and lifting (10-20 lbs for standard packing; 44-75 lbs during 2-person repacking).
Occasional/Rare:
