We make metal components for a variety of industries including construction, aerospace, transportation, medical, entertainment, food industries, etc. If it's made of metal, odds are that we can make it. A fabrication shop helper is responsible for assisting our amazing crew of fabricators such as our welders, fitters and supervisors. It is a great opportunity to learn from those who are experienced in their trade. A candidate with the willingness to learn and solve problems will likely learn how to weld, fit or operate complex equipment. We invite all employees to learn new skills and we'll provide training to anyone who can demonstrate motivation, dedication and a willingness to learn. Some Examples of Job Duties... Assist welders in preparing material/product for welding, cleaning welds, and cleaning weld areas Assist fitters in handling project material and supplies Equipment maintenance Organizing material, tools and supplies Using a forklift to assist in loading and unloading delivery trucks Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Basic knowledge of common shop hand tools and power tools preferred Ability to safely physically lift objects that weigh up to 50 lbs. Ability to operate a forklift and load and offload a flatbed truck is preferred Ability to tie-down/anchor steel/metal/plastic fabricated products and shipping palettes on a flatbed in a safe and proper manner is preferred Steel fabrication industry experience preferred Must possess a positive and professional attitude
