The details:

This position reports directly to the Shift Supervisor and collaborates with the rest of the team to develop creative solutions to challenges and focus on continuous improvement. This position is considered full-time and the shifts are Monday - Friday 8:00am to 4:30pm. Some overtime is expected based on production needs. The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of urgency, problem-solving skills, ability to analyze data and identify strengths and weaknesses in processes, attention to detail and the ability to remain focused on quality, standard work, efficiencies, and safety. An understanding of LEAN manufacturing OR a willingness to embrace LEAN philosophy is needed. Leadership experience is a must. × Plan and schedule personnel, materials, and equipment to ensure maximum machine uptime and readiness. × Look for ways to gain efficiency and reduce waste through continuous improvement. × Manage a crew of roughly 5-10 operators × Drive a culture of standard work within the department by providing instruction on machine standards × Participate in daily planning and problem-solving meetings with the leadership team. × Set the example in the plant for attendance, drive, ingenuity, problem solving and thoughtfulness. × React quickly to changes in demand, staffing and priorities. Flexibility in perspective is key. × Always stay customer focused. Minimum Job Requirements × Be able to stand on concrete floors for up to 3.5 hrs between breaks × Be able to lift 40 pounds × Be able to handle repetitive motion × Be able to work around loud equipment × Must adhere to company attendance policy × Must have strong communication skills × Be willing to wear a hair net or hat × Must wear hearing protection in various areas of the plant × No loose clothing or jewelry × Be willing to get dirty × Work around various safe limit odors (solvents, coatings, lubricants, etc.) × May be subjected to a background check after conditional job offer × Must be 18 yrs old × Must have a valid driver's license or ID card and authorized to work in the US × Bilingual is a plus, but not required Western Filament, Inc. is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
