Quality Name Plate, Inc. is seeking a dependable and hardworking Stock & Buffing Department Associate to join our manufacturing team. This position supports daily production by maintaining and organizing material inventory, preparing and moving materials for production, and performing buffing and finishing operations on manufactured parts. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, comfortable working in a manufacturing environment, and takes pride in producing quality work. Responsibilities Stock & Material Handling Receive, organize, and properly store raw materials and production stock. Pull and cut materials needed for production jobs. Deliver materials to the appropriate production departments as needed. Return unused materials to their proper stock locations. Maintain an organized and accurate stock and material storage area. Monitor material quantities and notify the appropriate personnel when stock is running low. Identify and properly label materials to help prevent incorrect material from being used. Assist with receiving and putting away incoming material deliveries. Safely move and handle sheet stock, boxes, containers, and other manufacturing materials. Assist with inventory counts when required. Keep aisles, racks, and storage areas clean and organized. Buffing & Production Operate buffing and polishing equipment used to finish manufactured parts. Buff, polish, clean, and finish parts according to job requirements. Remove scratches, burrs, rough edges, or surface imperfections as required. Visually inspect finished parts for appearance and workmanship. Handle finished parts carefully to prevent scratching or damage. Follow work orders, samples, and production instructions. Maintain buffing equipment and notify a supervisor of equipment or safety concerns. Keep buffing stations and surrounding work areas clean and organized. Follow all required safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment. Assist other production departments when necessary. Perform other related manufacturing duties as assigned. Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing, warehouse, stockroom, buffing, polishing, or finishing experience preferred but not required.
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to stay organized and keep track of multiple materials and production jobs.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn manufacturing equipment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to work safely around manufacturing equipment and materials.
- Ability to use a forklift.
Physical Requirements This position requires frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, and handling of materials throughout the workday. The employee must be able to safely lift, carry, and move materials and manufactured parts associated with the position, using assistance or material-handling equipment when appropriate. Work Environment This position is performed in a manufacturing environment and involves working around machinery, production equipment, metal and other raw materials, buffing equipment, and normal manufacturing noise and debris. Appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn as required.
Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
