GARMENT MARK-IN TECHNICIAN
French Cleaners Inc. | Blue Back Square, West Hartford $18.00-$20.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications French Cleaners Inc. is a 5th generation family business looking to add excited and passionate team members to help continue our success as one of America's Best Cleaners. Nestled right next to Blue Back Square in West Hartford, French Cleaners has been at the heart of the community for over 100 years. As a full-service dry-cleaning, tailoring, and laundry service, French Cleaners provides exceptional care to clean and repair every type of garment and household item. We pride ourselves on our Couture Care service and are looking for team members who take pride in quality, accuracy, and attention to detail. French Cleaners is truly "Where Miracles Happen."
Position Summary:
French Cleaners is looking for a Garment Mark-In Technician to join our production team. The Mark-In Technician is responsible for receiving, inspecting, identifying, and accurately entering customer garments into our system before they begin the cleaning process. This detail-oriented position is an important first step in our quality-control process. The Mark-In Technician helps ensure that every garment is properly identified, inspected, documented, and routed for the appropriate care. No dry-cleaning experience is required. We are willing to train the right person who is dependable, organized, comfortable using a computer, and eager to learn. Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities are available based on experience and availability. This position supports mark in of clothes brought in during the day during store hours. This position works toward the end of the work day into the evening every night to mark in bags picked up on our delivery routes and in our store. This position should be filled by an individual who can consistently work into the evenings on a 2nd shift type of schedule. There is some Saturday work available as well.
Responsibilities:
Enter garment and order information accurately into our computer system. Identify garment types, colors, brands, fabrics, and other relevant details. Tag garments so they can be accurately tracked throughout the cleaning process. Inspect incoming garments for stains, damage, missing buttons, defects, and other potential concerns. Identify special-care garments and potential processing risks. Read and understand garment care labels and manufacturer instructions. Document and communicate stains, damage, special requests, and processing instructions to our cleaning and production teams. Determine the appropriate department or cleaning process for incoming items based on established procedures. Maintain a high level of accuracy while working efficiently in a fast-paced production environment. Help maintain an organized and clean work area. Learn multiple facets of our operation and assist other departments as needed. Key Skill Requirements Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Dependable and organized. Comfortable working with computers and learning new software. Ability to work efficiently while maintaining accuracy. Good communication and listening skills. Ability to recognize colors, garment types, and basic fabric characteristics. Willingness to learn about fabrics, garment construction, stains, and professional garment care. Ability to follow established procedures and recognize when an item requires additional attention. Ability to work independently as well as part of a production team. Previous dry-cleaning, laundry, garment, retail, inventory, data-entry, or production experience is helpful but not required. We are willing to train the right candidate. French Cleaners' operating hours are 6:30 AM-6:00 PM. This position has some scheduling into 2nd shift to Mark In clothes that are picked up during the day. This position may have occasional need to work until 8 pm or 10 pm. Great fit for someone excited to work 2nd shift.
Pay:
$18.00 - $20.00 per hour Expected hours: 30.0 - 45.0 per week
