Apparel Production Position Type:
Part-Time with Opportunity to Grow into

Starting at approximately 2 days per week

Opportunity to expand hours and eventually oversee customization and production operations About the Position We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Customization Production Lead to manage and operate the equipment within our growing customization shop. This position is ideal for someone who is already highly experienced with DTF printing, commercial embroidery, sublimation, heat pressing, and apparel customization and is comfortable taking ownership of the production process from setup through finished product. This is not an entry-level position. We are looking for someone who understands the equipment, knows how to produce professional-quality apparel and customized products, can troubleshoot problems independently, and takes pride in maintaining an organized and efficient production environment. The position will initially be part-time, approximately two days per week , with the opportunity to increase hours as our customization department grows. For the right person, there is significant potential to develop into a full-time leadership position overseeing customization production and operations. Responsibilities Operate and manage DTF printing equipment Operate commercial embroidery machines Operate sublimation printers and equipment Expertly use heat presses for apparel and other customized products Properly press a variety of garments, fabrics, materials, and products Set appropriate time, temperature, pressure, placement, and application settings for different materials Prepare artwork/files for production and ensure designs are correctly sized and positioned Hoop and prepare apparel for embroidery Load and change embroidery thread, needles, bobbins, and other machine components Run embroidery jobs and monitor production quality Print, prepare, cut, and apply DTF transfers Produce sublimated apparel and products Perform quality control throughout the production process Identify and correct issues including alignment, color, pressure, embroidery tension, thread breaks, transfer adhesion, printing problems, and other production errors Troubleshoot machine and production issues independently Perform routine cleaning, maintenance, and upkeep of all customization equipment Identify when equipment requires repair or additional servicing Maintain machines according to manufacturer recommendations Keep the customization workspace clean, organized, stocked, and production-ready Monitor supplies including inks, films, powders, thread, needles, blanks, transfer materials, and other production necessities Help establish efficient production workflows and processes Complete orders accurately and within required deadlines Minimize product waste and production errors Maintain consistent quality standards across all customized products Assist with testing new products, techniques, equipment, and customization methods as the department grows
Qualifications Required:
Professional experience with apparel customization and production Strong experience operating DTF printing equipment Strong experience with commercial embroidery machines Experience with sublimation printing Advanced knowledge of heat pressing and apparel application Understanding of different fabrics and how temperature, pressure, and application methods affect them Ability to troubleshoot equipment and production problems Experience performing routine equipment maintenance and upkeep Excellent attention to detail Strong understanding of product placement, alignment, sizing, and quality control Ability to work independently without constant supervision Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple production jobs Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on production environment
Preferred:
Experience working in a customization, promotional products, embroidery, print, or apparel production shop Experience preparing production-ready artwork and files Experience with embroidery digitizing software and/or RIP/DTF printing software Experience managing inventory and production supplies Previous experience training or supervising production employees Experience creating or improving production processes Who We're Looking For We are looking for someone who does more than simply push buttons on a machine. The ideal candidate understands why a machine is producing a certain result, knows how to diagnose and correct problems, and takes ownership of the finished product.

The role will begin at approximately two days per week , but there is strong potential for additional hours and a transition into a full-time position as production volume increases. For the right person, this role can also grow beyond machine operation into a leadership position responsible for: Managing the customization department Overseeing production schedules and workflows Training future production employees Managing equipment and maintenance Monitoring inventory and production supplies Establishing quality-control standards Improving efficiency and production capacity Helping determine future equipment and production needs We are looking for someone who wants the opportunity to grow with the company and eventually take ownership of customization operations. Starting Pay is $20/hour and increases based on experience. 1099 with possibility of full time employment.
Pay:
$18.00 - $25.00 per hour Expected hours: 20.0 - 30.0 per week
