Responsible for cleaning, abrasive blasting, and preparing aerospace components for inspection, repair, painting, coating, or assembly. Follows aerospace specifications, safety procedures, and quality standards while handling precision parts and specialized equipment. Key Responsibilities Clean aerospace parts using approved chemical, mechanical, and manual cleaning methods. Operate abrasive blasting equipment to remove paint, coatings, corrosion, dirt, and other contaminants. Mask and protect critical surfaces, threads, holes, and precision areas before blasting. Inspect parts before and after cleaning/blasting for cleanliness, damage, and surface condition. Follow work instructions, engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. Operate and maintain blasting or cleaning equipment, spray equipment, and related tools. Measure and maintain proper blasting pressure, media, temperature, and cleaning parameters. Properly identify, handle, and dispose of chemicals and blasting media. Maintain accurate production and quality records. Keep work areas, equipment, and tools clean and organized. Follow all FAA, OSHA, company, environmental, and safety requirements. Report damaged or nonconforming parts to the appropriate supervisor or quality personnel. Qualifications High school diploma or GED preferred. Experience in aerospace manufacturing, parts cleaning, blasting, surface preparation, or a related field is preferred. Ability to read and follow work instructions, drawings, and specifications. Good attention to detail and ability to work with small or precision components. Ability to use personal protective equipment and work safely around chemicals and abrasive materials. Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift and handle parts as required.
