OVERVIEW

Join LIFTUUP as a Companion Support Team Member and help individuals enjoy greater connection, comfort, and independence. This is a non-medical, hands-off companion position serving individuals and families in Ocala and surrounding areas. Companion services may include appointment support, social visits, recreational outings, overnight companionship, patient sitting, errands, and other approved non-medical activities.

LIFTUUP DOES NOT PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION.

Team members meet clients at the scheduled location.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide respectful, dependable companionship and emotional support. Meet clients at medical appointments, dialysis centers, eye clinics, outpatient facilities, social events, and other approved locations. Remain with clients during scheduled appointments or activities when requested. Provide patient sitting and safety observation without performing medical care. Accompany clients during scenic outings, movie visits, theme-park visits, significant-other visits, and other approved activities. Provide scheduled daytime, evening, weekend, or overnight companionship. Assist with light meal preparation, small errands, small-pet assistance, and other approved hands-off support. Communicate professionally with clients, families, facilities, and LIFTUUP leadership. Protect client privacy and maintain accurate service documentation. Follow all LIFTUUP safety, confidentiality, professional-conduct, and incident-reporting procedures.

IMPORTANT ROLE BOUNDARIES

Companion Support Team Members do not: Lift, transfer, reposition, bathe, dress, toilet, feed, or physically handle clients. Administer medications or provide medication management. Take vital signs or provide nursing, medical, or personal-care services. Operate Hoyer lifts or other patient-transfer equipment. Provide transportation in a LIFTUUP vehicle or personal vehicle. Respond to medical emergencies in place of 911 or emergency medical services.

QUALIFICATIONS

Compassionate, patient, dependable, and respectful. Strong communication and customer-service skills. Able to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality. Comfortable working independently and following written service plans. Prior companion, caregiving, senior-support, customer-service, healthcare, or community-support experience is preferred but not required. CPR and First Aid certification are preferred. Successful completion of required background screening, orientation, and training. Reliable transportation to reach assigned locations independently.

$22.55 - $27.16 per hour
