  • 2nd shift (M-F; 2:00 p.m.
  • 10:00 p.
m.) Weekend work required when necessary.
Job Requirements include:
Performs setup of aluminum extrusion press. Changes dies based upon written specifications. Uses overhead crane to remove hot die from heated oven. Places die in press tool holder, ensuring that tooling is correct length. Operates press to pre-set standards. Enters die number; checks gauges to ensure automated operating system is properly controlling temperature and extrusion process. Performs quality checks (surface and condition); cuts samples (after every 7th billet) to check tolerances. Lubricates equipment; performs light preventative maintenance. Removes scraps of metal from press with chisel. Advises Supervisor or Maintenance when press needs service. Maintains clean and orderly workplace. Observes safety rules and practices; reports any unsafe acts or conditions to supervisor. Must be able to lift 40lbs. Must have flexible schedule; weekend work is required . Valid driver's license required.
Work Environment :
Exposure to temperature extremes (heat/cold), noise, dust in a manufacturing environment. Must wear appropriate PPE at all times (e.g., safety glasses, ear protection, steel-toes shoes, long pants).
