Job Summary We are seeking a Production Assistant to support live event and theater operations in St. Petersburg, FL. This position assists the Director of Production with event-day operations, production services, venue coordination, and patron or employee relations. The Production Assistant will help with the planning, coordination, and execution of venue events, including logistics, equipment, technical requirements, staff coordination, stage setups, and event support. The ideal candidate will have experience in live entertainment, performing arts, theater production, venue operations, or event coordination. This role requires strong communication, organization, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced live event environment.

Hours vary depending on the theater/event schedule Full-time schedule with 40 hours per week guaranteed Overtime may be available or required based on event needs Must be available to work nights, weekends, and possibly holidays Duties Assist the Director of Production with event-day operations, production services, and patron or employee relations. Support planning, coordination, and execution of venue events from start to finish. Help advance assigned shows by coordinating logistics, equipment, and technical requirements according to production riders. Schedule and direct event support personnel, including front-of-house staff, ushers, ticket takers, security, local law enforcement, and IATSE stagehands. Assist with physical stage setups, stagehand tasks, and venue conversions. Ensure stage setups and event requirements match production advance agreements. Help ensure production work and venue setups are completed safely and in compliance with applicable safety procedures. Oversee house lighting rig lamp repairs and maintain an accurate house lighting inventory. Troubleshoot and operate theater production equipment as needed. Work with the Facilities Department to monitor and coordinate repairs on production and building equipment. Communicate professionally with patrons, clients, employees, vendors, stagehands, and venue management. Assist in resolving patron, client, or employee concerns in coordination with the venue management team. Perform other production, event, or venue support duties as assigned. Qualifications Prior experience in performing arts, live entertainment production, theater operations, venue operations, event coordination, or related work preferred. Hands-on experience using powered and non-powered hand tools. Ability to operate or troubleshoot theater production equipment preferred. Ability to read, understand, and follow production-related instructions, schedules, and event requirements. Strong planning, scheduling, and coordination skills. Ability to coordinate staff, vendors, contractors, and event support personnel. Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight live-event deadlines. Strong communication and customer service skills. Ability to maintain professionalism when working with patrons, clients, employees, vendors, and production staff. Familiarity with modern office practices and standard Windows-based computer applications. Must be willing and able to work a flexible event-based schedule, including nights, weekends, possible holidays, and overtime as needed. Must be able to pass all required background screening, drug screening, and onboarding requirements. Preferred Education and Experience Prior experience in performing arts management, live entertainment production, theater production, venue building operations, or event operations preferred. A four-year degree from an accredited college, university, or technical school in Performing Arts Management, Production, Theater, Event Management, or a related field is preferred. Work Environment Work is performed in a theater, venue, and live event environment. Schedule may vary based on event needs and may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Position may involve working around stage equipment, lighting equipment, production crews, performers, patrons, and event staff. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities may change quickly.
