Job Description

Our client is seeking a Waterworks Operator to support flushing, monitoring, and maintenance of a non-potable water distribution system. This is a temporary position expected to last 4 months, with possible transition to full-time based on available positions at the end of the contract.
Pay:
$17.50 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
Perform flushing tasks on the non-potable water distribution system using flushing equipment and technologiesMonitor and check water quality in the distribution systemReview utility maps to determine flow, valve locations, and proper flushing pointsOperate valves, hydrants, and blow-offs to restore and maintain water qualityMaintain and operate monitoring equipment, ensuring QA/QC procedures are followedImplement flushing plans using GIS and Cityworks tracking technologiesPrepare written/electronic reports on maintenance, water quality, and customer complaintsMonitor, schedule, and track completion of preventative/corrective maintenanceCollect and maintain water quality data; evaluate historical trendsMaintain inventory of parts and tools for flushing operationsReport to Lead Flushing TechnicianPerform other related duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GEDFlorida Driver's LicenseSkilled utilities field experience, including water delivery systems, water quality monitoring/flushing, and related inspectionsAbility to operate water distribution infrastructure (valves, hydrants, blow-offs)Ability to perform water quality monitoring using field test equipmentAbility to read and interpret blueprints, plats, maps, and diagramsAbility to complete written or electronic field data records
Preferred Qualifications:
Leadership experienceAvailability to work varied schedules, including emergency/disaster situations
