Job Description
General Production Worker - 1st Shift Job Description This role involves operating production machinery in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, performing visual inspections, and supporting repetitive production changeovers. You will work hands-on with various equipment, follow cleanroom and safety procedures, and help ensure products meet quality and performance standards. Responsibilities Operate production machines safely and efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Perform visual inspection of products to ensure quality and identify defects or irregularities. Support repetitive changeovers by setting up, adjusting, and preparing machines for different production runs. Handle general production tasks such as loading materials, packaging, assembly, and packing finished products. Work within cleanroom and controlled production areas, following all gowning and suit-up requirements. Use basic computer skills to enter data, follow work instructions, and complete production-related documentation. Apply basic math skills to measure, count, and verify production quantities and materials. Lift and move materials and products weighing up to 30-50 lbs as needed throughout the shift. Stand for an 8-hour shift while performing hands-on production and machine operation tasks. Operate or assist with forklifts and other material handling equipment when required, following safety procedures. Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning machines and equipment as needed. Follow all safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures related to medical device or similar production environments. Essential Skills Hands-on production or general labor experience in a manufacturing or similar environment. Experience with machine operation, including starting, stopping, and monitoring production equipment. Ability to perform visual inspection of products with strong attention to detail. Basic math skills to support counting, measuring, and verifying production data. Ability to stand and work on your feet for an 8-hour shift. Ability to lift and move 30-50 lbs safely during the course of the shift. Comfort working in a fast-paced, repetitive production environment. Basic computer skills to navigate systems, enter data, and follow electronic instructions. Ability to follow cleanroom and suit-up procedures in production areas. High school diploma or equivalent. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with packaging, assembly, and general production work. Experience operating forklifts or other material handling equipment. Familiarity with inspection processes and quality-focused production practices. Comfort working with general labor tasks such as loading, packing, and machine cleaning. Willingness to wear steel-toe or composite-toe shoes during interviews and on shift. Strong reliability, punctuality, and ability to work consistently Monday through Friday on 1st shift. Work Environment This position is based in a manufacturing facility operating on a Monday-Friday 1st shift schedule. The work is fast paced and hands on, with an expectation to stand for an 8-hour shift and handle repetitive tasks. You will work in production areas that require you to suit up, including cleanroom environments where strict cleanliness and safety standards apply. The role involves working around machinery, performing general labor and assembly tasks, and using equipment such as forklifts when needed. Steel-toe or composite-toe shoes are required both during the interview and while on shift to meet safety standards. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Belen, NM. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
