Assembler Position Title Assembler Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and mechanically inclined Assembler to join our manufacturing team. The Assembler will be responsible for building, assembling, testing, and inspecting mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic products according to engineering specifications and quality standards. This role requires the ability to work with hand tools, power tools, assembly drawings, and measuring equipment while maintaining production efficiency and product quality. The ideal candidate has experience in a manufacturing, assembly, automotive, construction, or other hands-on industrial environment and is comfortable performing repetitive tasks in a fast-paced production setting. Key Responsibilities Product Assembly & Manufacturing Assemble mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electronic products according to engineering specifications and work instructions. Build sub-assemblies and complete finished products using hand tools, power tools, and production equipment. Install components, wiring, hardware, fasteners, and electrical parts as required. Perform assembly operations efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards. Ensure all products are assembled accurately and meet design requirements. Blueprint Reading & Documentation Read and interpret work instructions, assembly drawings, blueprints, schematics, and production documentation. Follow detailed assembly procedures and manufacturing processes. Verify components and materials before assembly to ensure accuracy. Quality Control & Inspection Conduct product testing and basic functional inspections throughout the assembly process. Use measuring devices and inspection tools such as: Calipers Tape measures Gauges Micrometers (if applicable) Other quality inspection instruments Inspect parts and finished products for defects, damage, or non-conformance issues. Ensure products meet all company quality and safety standards. Troubleshooting & Problem Solving Identify and resolve minor assembly issues and production-related concerns. Report equipment malfunctions, material shortages, quality issues, or process deviations to supervisors. Assist in identifying process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce defects. Production Support Support daily production schedules and help achieve departmental productivity goals. Maintain consistent production output while ensuring quality standards are met. Monitor inventory of assembly materials and notify supervisors when supplies are low. Accurately complete production, inspection, and quality documentation. Safety & Housekeeping Follow all workplace safety procedures, policies, and regulations. Properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment. Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives. Team Collaboration Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Engineering, and Supervisory teams. Communicate effectively regarding production updates, quality concerns, and operational issues. Support cross-functional activities to improve productivity and workflow efficiency. Required Qualifications Experience Minimum 6 months of experience in a hands-on industrial or mechanical environment, including: Manufacturing Mechanical Assembly Automotive Repair Construction Warehouse Assembly Operations Industrial Maintenance Other related mechanical or industrial fields Technical Skills Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities. Experience using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.Ability to read and interpret:
Assembly drawings Blueprints Work instructions Technical documentation Familiarity with measuring and inspection tools. Basic math skills including measurements, fractions, and conversions. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, twist, and perform repetitive motions throughout the shift. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials as required. Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to work in a production environment while meeting productivity standards. Communication & Work Habits Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Reliable attendance and strong work ethic. Preferred Qualifications Candidates with the following experience are highly preferred: Wiring and cable assembly experience. Soldering experience. Electronic assembly experience. Experience working in a manufacturing or production facility. Knowledge of quality inspection methods and procedures. Experience with Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement principles. Familiarity with electrical diagrams and schematics. Experience with ISO-regulated manufacturing environments. Work Environment Clean, organized, and safety-focused manufacturing facility. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Torrington, CT. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.80 - $20.90/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
