Job Title:

Welder Assistant Job Description The Welder Assistant will start in a production role with the opportunity to transition into a MIG welding apprentice program. Responsibilities Perform MIG welds on various parts of displays for customers. Spend 60-70% of the time welding and the remainder operating a punch press or grinding material. Work collaboratively within a team of 3-5 people in welding cells. Begin with simpler tasks at the front of the room and progress to more complex tasks at the back of the room. Essential Skills Welding, especially MIG welding. Experience with blueprints and fabrication. Ability to stand continuously for 8-10 hours. Capability to lift up to 25 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally. Additional Skills & Qualifications Completion of welding classes. Experience within manufacturing environment Experience in finish grinding and punch press operation. Why Work Here? Work Environment The position is for the 1st shift, running from 7am to 3:30pm, with occasional Saturday work for 4 hours, and no work on Sundays. The work environment includes a range of in-house manufacturing capabilities such as metal fabrication, powder coating, and graphic development. Physical demands include continuous standing, firm grasping, frequent bending, and occasional twisting and kneeling. The workplace offers a collaborative team environment with a focus on safety and quality. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Belvidere, IL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
