- 3:30 PM (Must be flexible for overtime and off-shift support as business needs require) Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Assembly Manufacturing Engineer to support high-volume assembly and shop floor production operations in East Moline, IL.
In this role, you will spend the vast majority of your shift directly on the factory floor providing engineering troubleshooting, optimizing assembly line flow, and driving continuous improvement projects for large-scale equipment cab and front-end assembly business units. You will establish Sequences of Events (SOE), Operator Methods Sheets (OMS), workstation ergonomic layouts, smart torque tooling parameters, and assembly fixturing while working directly with cross-functional manufacturing teams, SAP, and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to enhance line safety, quality, and output.
Key Responsibilities Shop Floor Troubleshooting & Assembly Support:
Spend a significant majority of each shift on the production floor directly supporting wage operators, troubleshooting assembly line bottlenecks, and keeping line operations running smoothly.
Process Documentation & Standards:
Author and update Operator Methods Sheets (OMS), Sequences of Events (SOE), labor standards, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Workstation & Tooling Optimization:
Design and implement improved assembly fixtures, work center layouts, material presentation racks, and smart DC electric torque tooling (e.g., Atlas Copco, Ingersoll Rand, Panasonic).
Continuous Improvement & Ergonomics:
Lead engineering projects to eliminate safety hazards, enhance assembly ergonomics, reduce cycle time imbalances, and drive Lean/5S improvements.
Systems & Data Tracking:
Utilize enterprise SAP and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) to manage engineering routing changes, process controls, and quality data.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with production supervisors, quality engineers, operations leads, and union floor teams to resolve build variances and meet daily production quotas.
Required Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, Agricultural) or an Engineering Technology discipline.
Experience:
2-5+ years of hands-on manufacturing engineering experience supporting assembly, production lines, or industrial equipment manufacturing.
Core Technical Competencies:
Proven experience establishing assembly documentation, workstation layouts, and process controls. Hands-on familiarity with engineering databases, SAP, and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES). Practical understanding of assembly fixturing, torque tooling, and error-proofing (poka-yoke) mechanisms.
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Ability to spend the significant majority of an 8-hour shift walking or standing on the factory floor. Ability to consistently wear all required PPE (Metatarsal safety boots, bump cap, safety glasses, earplugs, gloves). Must possess and wear Metatarsal safety boots starting on Day 1.

Candidates must be US Citizens or Green Card Holders on a direct W2 basis. Visa sponsorship is not available now or in the future for this position. Preferred Qualifications Prior experience working inside a heavy machinery, agricultural equipment, automotive, or union manufacturing environment. Direct experience configuring smart torque tools (Atlas Copco, IR, Panasonic) or automated assembly devices. Working knowledge of line balancing, cycle of imbalance analysis, and visual management boards.

- 3:30 PM) with potential overtime/off-shift needs, and requires Metatarsal boots on Day 1.
