Job Description

Carl Buddig & Company seeks a 2nd Shift Line Leader / Machine Operator to oversee safe, efficient operation of food production lines. Responsibilities include setting up and operating slicing and packaging equipment, leading and training line staff, monitoring product quality, completing production and sanitation checks, troubleshooting minor mechanical issues, and following strict food safety, GMP, and OSHA guidelines. This role supports a family-oriented, team-focused culture and offers opportunities to grow within a stable, long-established food manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Set up, operate, and monitor slicing and packaging machinery on 2nd shift Lead, guide, and train line employees to meet production goals Ensure product quality, weights, labeling, and packaging meet standards Perform basic troubleshooting and adjustments to equipment Complete production, safety, and sanitation checks and documentation Follow all food safety, GMP, and OSHA requirements Coordinate with maintenance and supervisors to resolve line issues Support continuous improvement, waste reduction, and line efficiency Required Skills Food production line operation Machine setup and changeovers Basic mechanical troubleshooting Quality control and inspection Food safety and GMP compliance HACCP principles Production documentation and reporting Team leadership on the line Lockout/Tagout and safety procedures Sanitation procedures in food manufacturing
